Presenter:
Chip Hollis, Vice President of the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), leads the organization’s operations and implementation of the policies and strategic direction established by the NICET Board of Governors. Since joining NICET in 2006, he has worked to advance the value of professional certification across the engineering technology and fire protection industries, engaging technicians, employers, designers, contract specifiers, AHJs, and other stakeholders.
Hollis is passionate about developing a qualified technical workforce and ensuring that certification remains both rigorous and relevant to the evolving needs of industry. His work includes strengthening certification programs, improving the candidate and customer experience, modernizing processes, and maintaining the integrity and credibility of NICET credentials.
Prior to joining NICET, Hollis spent most of his career in association marketing and communications, along with three years in financial analysis in the telecommunications industry. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from California State University, Long Beach, and earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives in 2023.
