This free 60-minute presentation will cover the requirements of the 2023 edition of NFPA 855 (Standard for the Installation of Stationary Energy Storage Systems). The webinar will be a high level overview of the structure of the installation standard and basic requirements of the chapters and annexes including battery energy storage systems.

Scott Lang is an Engineering Fellow for Honeywell Fire. He has over 30 years of experience in the fire industry and his primary focus is on codes and standards development for fire & life safety detection and notification in the Americas. Scott began his career at Pittway (System Sensor) in 1992 as a design engineer. Since that time, he has worked in various aspects of smoke detector research and development as well as a variety of fire detection and notification projects and has been granted 24 US patents. Currently, Scott serves on a number of NFPA, UL/ULC, and international standards development committees and is active on several industry trade associations including the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) and the Automatic Fire Alarm Association.
