AFAA is offering NFPA’s National Fire Alarm and Signaling: 72-2025 as an IN-PERSON offering. This three-day, instructor-led training offers comprehensive guidance on the National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code and helps ensure you stay up to date with the latest standards and best practices. This cutting-edge training covers key aspects such as system design, performance, and inspection, testing, and maintenance protocols and is ideal for fire safety professionals, engineers, and contractors. Our expert-led instruction features interactive exercises that teach you everything from system design to inspection, testing, and maintenance and that help you experience the code and its practical application.

Attendees must bring their own copy of NFPA 72-2025 edition. You can order your copy as part of your registration. The books will be shipped to the training site and available on the first day of class. Cost: $171, includes shipping. All other class materials will be provided electronically prior to the start of class. Extra copies of NFPA 72 will not be available at the training site. To ensure on-time delivery, you must register and order the code book before 6/30/2026. Attendees that register after 7/1/2026 are responsible for obtaining their own copy of the code book.

 

Additional course details: This course prepares you to determine how NFPA 72 is used to design, install, and maintain a fire detection and alarm system and how the code is structured. This is not just for beginners. Anyone working in the industry will benefit from this class to improve your understanding of fire alarm compliance.

-Given a plan set and information about a specific building, design an appropriate fire detection and alarm system that considers fire detection components, notification components, zoning and annunciation, primary power, circuit/pathway wiring, and emergency control functions.
-Identify the types of supervision station alarm systems and how they are commonly used.
-Develop a record-keeping program in accordance with code requirements while on the job.
-Locate and interpret inspection and testing requirements for components of a fire alarm system.
-Identify the different types of off-premises signaling systems and cite general requirements associated with them.
