NFPA 13 Requirements which Drive Fire Alarm Designs

NFPA 13 Requirements which Drive Fire Alarm Designs

Wednesday, October 15 | 1 PM (ET)

This free 60-minute webinar is being held on Wednesday, October 15th. This session explores how the NFPA 13 fire sprinkler system standard directly influences the design and integration of fire alarm systems. Key requirements include the monitoring of sprinkler system components, such as valves and water flow devices, along with new requirements to supervise suppression release systems.  Beyond these core mandates, NFPA 13 has provisions to provide smoke detection in areas where sprinklers are omitted, automation of annual suppression system testing, integration with High Volume Low Speed (HVLS) fans, options for outdoor audible notification appliances, and allowances for fire sprinkler engineers to use reduced water supply duration values.  This presentation will highlight these intersections between sprinkler and alarm systems, offering insights for designers, engineers, and code officials seeking to optimize fire protection strategies.
