Most Popular Classes

These are some of our most popular classes but we can also customize classes to fit your needs.

Fire Alarm Fundamentals

This basic fire alarm seminar is an application course beneficial for new installers, sales personnel, service technicians, plus building and fire inspectors involved in acceptance testing and/or plans review.

Fire Alarm Plan Development, Submittal and Review

This seminar is intended for authorities having jurisdiction involved in fire alarm system plan review, contractors providing submittal documentation for plan review and fire alarm system designers.

Inspection and Testing

This class reviews the requirements for properly conducting visual inspections and testing of fire alarm systems. This is beneficial for those performing acceptance or reacceptance testing, periodic inspection and testing; and those witnessing acceptance and reacceptance testing.

AFAA can provide live online instructor-led training to your company or organization. While these classes are designed as full-day sessions, attending virtually is best achieved by splitting these classes into two half-days per class. Offering the class in two half-days also helps to accommodate busy schedules and time zones. This training delivery provides the same course materials and expertise as the in-person training, without the loss of travel time and travel costs. If you prefer in-person training, that option is still available as well! Check out our course catalog below!

What Our Attendees Say

Real people, real reviews. See why our Fire Alarm Training is right for you!

“Brad Cronin was one of the best instructors I have had the pleasure of attending training with. He kept it interesting by sharing his real-life experiences. I look forward to him leading future trainings.”

– Autumn, Understanding the Fire Alarm Requirements of the IBC

“Tom Parrish is an excellent instructor and extremely knowledgeable about the material. I would gladly take another one of his classes.”

– Phil, Fire Alarm Fundamentals

“Instructors who are extremely knowledgeable, and who have “been there, done that” and can teach is rare but that is what AFAA usually brings and that is so in this case.”

-Anonymous, Fire Alarm Plan Review

“The presenter handled questions about magnets and smoke detector testing well, pressing to discuss the manufacturers’ data sheets and giving context to the discussion. Gave me a great framework with which to study the materials again on my own. Routine review of the information is the only way to remember such a large body of very dry content.

-Anonymous, Inspection and Testing

“In the past 2-weeks our Cintas Fire Alarm Apprentices have passed a combined 43 NICET exams! Thanks to AFAA’s NICET Prep-Level I and II Fire Alarm Systems Training.”

-Jason Dupuis, NICET Preparation-Level I and II Fire Alarm Systems
