2010 AFAA Annual Meeting was a great sucess!

A record number of attendees came to San Diego for the AFAA Codes Conference and Annual Meeting in 2010! 

We had great presentations, great networking opportunities and great entertainment. If you didn’t make it this year, plan to attend next year in Charleston on May 19-21.

CAFAA received the AFAA Member Association of the Year Award.

James Milke with the University of Maryland presented “Performance of Smoke Detectors and Sprinklers in Residential and Health-Care Occupancies”. This presentation summarized the findings of the literature study recently conducted.

Hightlights and additional thanks:

The AFAA Member Association award was presented to Ken Jones of CAFAA by John Chetelat, Recognition Committee Chairman and incoming Chairman of the Board.  Our largest member association, CAFAA recieved the award for their outstanding committment to training, relationships with AHJ's and code involvement.

Thanks to Doug Shakley of Pacific Auxiliary Fire Alarm Co., for donating the 1890 Fire Alarm Box.  Dewey Wood of Wood Electronics, Monroe, LA was the sucessful bidder at $800.
